Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Atlo.
What exactly is Atlo?
Atlo is a personal sports and nutrition coach that cross-references three domains in real time: nutrition, training, and recovery. Unlike apps that focus on a single aspect, Atlo analyzes how each domain impacts the others. Example: a bad night's sleep automatically adjusts your workout intensity for the day. The app is available on iOS and Android.
Is it free or paid?
Atlo offers two plans. The Free plan includes nutrition tracking (calories, macros), adaptive TDEE, step tracking, and Apple Health / Oura / Garmin sync with 7-day history. The Pro plan ($8.99/month, price locked for life for waitlist subscribers) adds the multi-agent AI coach, full cross-referencing, micronutrients, program generation, meal photo analysis, and unlimited history.
What does the AI coach actually do?
Atlo's AI coach uses a multi-agent architecture: one agent specialized in nutrition, one in training, one in recovery. They talk to each other in real time. In practice: tell it you want to cut, it generates a personalized program. Show it a photo of your plate, it estimates macros. Your HRV drops? It adjusts today's workout. It remembers everything (persistent memory), explains every recommendation, and never gets tired. Available 24/7 in the Pro plan.
Is my health data protected?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest in a secured Supabase database, accessible only by your account (Row-Level Security). On device, your session is encrypted in the iOS keychain or Android Keystore. HealthKit and Health Connect data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties. No advertising SDK is integrated. You can delete your account and all data in one step from the app's Settings.
Which devices and apps are compatible?
Atlo is available on iOS at launch, with Apple Health sync. The Android version will follow with Health Connect integration. For wearables: Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, and any watch that syncs with Apple Health or Health Connect.
Does Atlo replace my personal trainer?
Atlo is not a human coach and does not claim to replace one. The AI coach excels at data analysis, continuous tracking, and algorithmic personalization — things a human coach cannot do at this scale and price. However, a human coach provides real-time form correction, in-person motivational support, and intuition that AI lacks. Atlo is a powerful complement, not a replacement.
How can I track my meals?
Three methods. 1) Scan a product barcode. 2) Take a photo of your plate, the AI analyzes the contents. 3) Manual search in the 3000+ food database (CIQUAL, USDA, Open Food Facts). You can also create custom foods, compose recipes, and track 100+ metrics per food item (macros, 12 vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, fiber, sugar).
How is TDEE calculated?
Atlo doesn't rely on a simple formula. The app uses a Kalman filter that recalculates your energy expenditure daily from your real data: morning weight, consumed calories, steps, and workouts. After 2-3 weeks of use, accuracy exceeds any online calculator. The algorithm also detects metabolic adaptation (metabolism slowdown during prolonged deficit) and adjusts automatically.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. The Pro subscription is managed through Apple's App Store. You can manage or cancel it anytime in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone. No commitment, no minimum period.
What is the recovery score?
Atlo's recovery score is calculated from your personal baseline, not generic population thresholds. It considers your HRV (heart rate variability), resting heart rate, respiratory rate, SpO2, and sleep quality (deep, REM, light, awake phases). When your score is low, the coach automatically adjusts your workout intensity. The goal is not to train more, but to train at the right time.
Does Atlo replace MyFitnessPal, Strava, or Whoop?
Atlo replaces the combination of a nutrition app, a training app, and a recovery app. But where these apps work in silos, Atlo cross-references data. Your calorie deficit is adjusted based on your workouts. Your recovery is analyzed in light of your training volume. A running app like Strava remains complementary for GPS tracking of your runs.
